"Doin' Dirt" is a song recorded by American band Maroon 5 for their fourth studio album Overexposed (2012). It was written by the band's lead singer Adam Levine together with the producer Shellback. "Doin' Dirt" is an electropop song with high energy and beat-driven elements. Following the release of the album, due to strong digital downloads, the song peaked at number 15 on the singles chart in South Korea.

"Doin' Dirt" was written by Maroon 5's lead singer Adam Levine together with Shellback, who produced the song. Shellback also co-produced the lead single from Overexposed, "Payphone" together with Benny Blanco. "Doin' Dirt" was recorded at Conway Studios in Los Angeles and MXM Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, by Noah "Mailbox" Passovoy and Shellback. Sam Holland Såklart served as recording assistant, while Eric Eylands was engineering assistant. Serban Ghenea mixed the song at Mixstar Studios in Virginia Beach together with John Hanes and Phil Seaford who served as mixing engineer and mixing assistant respectively. Shellback provided the programming, additional guitar, bass and the keys.

Composition Edit

"Doin' Dirt" is an electropop song with high energy and beat-driven elements which lasts for three minutes and thirty-one seconds. Its instrumentation consists of piano and guitar. "Doin' Dirt" is written in the key of E♭ minor, in common time, with a tempo of 125 beats per minute. Levine's vocal range spans from the G4 to the high note of B5. In a review of Overexposed, Suzanne Byrne of RTÉ.ie wrote that the song together with "Fortune Teller" and "Tickets" has undertones of electronic dance tracks and a potential to be a "club smash". Cameron Adams of Herald Sun called "Doin' Dirt" a "disco monster".

Upon the release of Overexposed, due to strong digital downloads "Doin' Dirt" debuted on the South Korea Gaon International Chart at number 15 on June 24, 2012, with sales of 26,276 digital copies. The next week, it fell to number 21 and sold additional 12,308 copies. It stayed on the chart for total of seven weeks.
