Recording Edit

"Cold" was written and produced by Phil Shaouy, John Ryan, and Jacob Kasher Hindlin, and was co-written by Adam Levine, Justin Tranter, and Detail.

Music Video Edit

A music video was filmed in downtown Los Angeles, California in December 2016. The video was released on February 15, 2017 on Vevo. It features Behati Prinsloo and was directed by accomplished director Rich Lee. The video has over 100 million views as of July 2017.

Synopsis Edit

The video begins with Levine driving around as he gets a call about going to a party at Future's place to hear the rapper's verse for "Cold." Levine is hesitant at first, but agrees to come by. After chatting with Future, the singer shows up to the decadent celebration where his drink is immediately spiked.

From there, he embarks on a psychedelic adventure as the partygoers blur and turn into animals. After Future delivers his verse, he and the singer have a conversation in his private studio where he transforms into an old man and subsequently a bear in front of his collaborator. Levine finally makes his way home where he retells his night to his wife at the end of the video.
